10 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

→ For Frying

11 - Vegetable oil for deep frying

# How To Make It:

01 - Roll each slice of sandwich bread with a rolling pin until thin and pliable.
02 - Place a slice of ham evenly over each flattened bread slice. Position a mozzarella stick along one edge.
03 - Roll each slice tightly from the cheese end, ensuring the ham and bread fully enclose the cheese.
04 - Whisk eggs and milk together in a shallow bowl until thoroughly combined.
05 - Combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, and salt in a separate shallow bowl.
06 - Dip each roll in the egg wash, then press into the breadcrumb mixture to coat evenly on all sides.
07 - Pour vegetable oil into a deep pan and heat to 350°F.
08 - Fry the sticks in batches for 2–3 minutes, turning frequently until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
09 - Allow the sticks to cool for 2 minutes to set the coating and prevent burning.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • The crispy breadcrumb coating gives way to gooey melted cheese and salty ham in every bite
  • They come together in under 30 minutes using ingredients you probably already have
02 -
  • Roll the bread as thin as possible without tearing it, otherwise the sticks will be doughy and the cheese will not melt properly
  • Do not overcrowd the pan while frying, or the oil temperature will drop and the coating will become soggy instead of crispy
03 -
  • Pat the ham dry with paper towels before using to prevent the bread from getting soggy
  • Let the coated sticks rest for 5 minutes before frying to help the coating adhere better
